ABOUT/
KENZIE is a painter based in Lexington, South Carolina, examining the conditions humans surrender to dominant technologies and what we accept in their place. Her practice uses classical figurative tradition to render contemporary rupture. After more than a decade in technology, she returned to painting to address what she had spent years building from the inside. Autophagy: False Gods is her first major body of work.

Autophagy: Flase Gods
The work sits inside a longer story. Humanity has submitted to its own technology twice already — first the body to the machinery of industry, then the mind to the network and the screen. The third submission is happening now: the self handed over to the machine that thinks, generates, and decides.
The figure stays classical. The face does not. What gets carried forward, what gets quietly replaced, and who decides which is which — that is the question the collection holds.
Early works released privately to the studio list before public showing.
