KENZIE
KENZIE is a painter based in Lexington, South Carolina, whose work examines the conditions humans surrender to dominant technologies and what we accept in their place. Her practice combines classical figurative tradition with contemporary subject matter, using accumulated crosshatching in acrylic to render bodies caught between historical reverence and present-tense rupture.
After more than a decade leading user-experience design at the intersection of emerging technology and human behavior, she returned to painting to examine the conditions her industry was producing.
"I am stepping out of the void, bringing with me reflections of what I have seen: whispers of collective shortcomings, and warnings of what is being written."
Autophagy: False Gods, her first major body of work, comprises fifteen paintings completed in 2026. The series draws on Greek myth, Byzantine iconography, and the long Western tradition of devotional painting to examine the contemporary reorganization of human capacity.
